Summer 2017 Pusheen Box unboxing!

Better late than never, right? I received my Summer 2017 Pusheen Box¬†back on July 29th – delayed from its original expected delivery in mid-July because of a customs inspection, we were told. Anyway, here’s the box:

pusheen170729

Pusheen with star shades! Adorable. As before, it was shrink-wrapped in plastic during shipping to protect the box. The box also seems to be of a slightly glossier paper this time.

Here’s what was inside – vacation and hot-weather stuff!

pusheen170729a

There was a bit of moisture/condensation inside my box, but luckily, it doesn’t seem like anything was damaged.

pusheen170729m

Condensation inside the vinyl figure packaging. The ice pack also had some condensation in the packaging.

pusheen170729b

(1) Pusheen lightweight backpack – Pusheen Box Exclusive – Starting with probably my favorite item in this box! Vacation Pusheen and ice cream print, with Pusheen on a skateboard front and center. I love that this lightweight backpack folds up compactly into its own front pocket and zips up into a roughly 6″ x 8″ handled pouch. Holds up to 20 pounds. 100% polyester, machine wash cold, line dry.

pusheen170729c

Phone included in photo for scale. ūüôā

pusheen170729i

Folds up nicely. ūüôā

(2) Pusheen luggage tag – Pusheen Box Exclusive – Not sure what kind of plastic it’s made of, but it’s textured, in that signature Pusheen aqua, and printed with Pusheen on the front. The print is kind of sticky-feeling, and the sewing isn’t terribly even, but hey, it’s a cute luggage tag.

(3) Pusheen passport holder¬†– Pusheen Box Exclusive – Same aqua textured plastic as the luggage tag, with an embroidered patch of a hang-gliding Pusheen sewn to the front and “See ya” embroidered under that. Super cute, but again, the sewing isn’t terribly even, and the inside of mine is pretty crooked. It actually looks worse in person than in the below photo, probably because you can tell it’s not just perspective causing that funny bend in the right pocket. Ah, well. Doesn’t look bad from the front, and it’s still functional and cute.

pusheen170729d

Fronts

pusheen170729e

Back/inside. Not the best quality workmanship, but not entirely unexpected for this kind of subscription box.

(4) Pusheen earbuds – Maybe my second-favorite thing in this box. Aqua cable with pink connectors and buds, which have Pusheen’s front end on one side and her back end on the other. Too cute, and they work just fine. Also comes in a handy matching storage box! Too bad they don’t seem to have a built-in mic for phone use, else I might ditch my current vanilla earbuds for these.

pusheen170729f

(5) Pusheen 4 popsicle mold set – Pusheen Box Exclusive – 4 popsicle molds shaped like Pusheen’s adorable noggin (the features are printed on the mold and won’t show up on the pop when removed), 4 popsicle sticks (in pink, yellow, mint, and blue), and a popsicle stand. BPA-free and dishwasher-safe.

pusheen170729gpusheen170729h

(6) Pusheen 3 silly straw set – One clear with Pusheen and ice cream, one aqua with Pusheen and watermelon, and one pink with Pusheen sipping a drink.

(7) Pusheen ice pack – It’s one of those plastic gel ice packs, shaped like Pusheen with sunglasses! It was packaged in a cute clear box with a sun, birds, and clouds backdrop. Roughly palm-sized and probably too small to use in a lunch bag, but probably useful for cooling down in hot weather or icing injuries. Non-toxic gel, wash gently by hand.

pusheen170729j

(8) Pusheen sleeveless tee – Pusheen Box Exclusive – Heather gray, 60% cotton and 40% polyester, and printed with various Pusheens, clouds, and hang-gliding Pusheen. This top fits me better than the other unisex-cut clothes I’ve gotten from the Pusheen Box, thankfully, though I have the usual issue of it being a bit snug in the hips (it’s about hip length on me). Everywhere else, it’s nice and roomy. It should make a good workout shirt!

pusheen170729k

(9) Vacation Pusheen vinyl figure – Pusheen Box Exclusive – It’s Pusheen in sunglasses, at the beach under a palm with a beach ball! My two-year-old especially loves this figure and keeps gushing about “Pusheen on an island! With a ball!” I think it’s her favorite one yet.

pusheen170729l

That’s all for this box! Very pleased that nothing was defective in this box, and the selection of items was pretty great. ūüôā Anyone else nab this box? What was your favorite item?

Unboxing: Spring 2017 Pusheen Box!

I hit a few snags with the Spring 2017 Pusheen Box, but I finally received it about a week ago!

As always, it arrived shrink-wrapped in protective plastic, which kept the cute Bunny Pusheen cardboard box clean, perfect for future gift use:

pusheen170517

Look at the cute puffball bunny tail:

pusheen170517b

And here it is, freshly opened:

pusheen170517c

Here’s what was inside:

(1) Bunny Pusheen vinyl figure (Pusheen Box Exclusive) – super cute, and no problems with the paint/print job on this one. Too bad it didn’t arrive before Easter!

pusheen170517h

(2) Pusheen Wireless Speaker – I assume this is a Pusheen Box Exclusive, too, though it doesn’t say so on the box. It’s a cute (but cheap), hard-plastic Bluetooth wireless speaker shaped like Pusheen, with a handy grab strap for toting her along. It comes with a short USB/micro-USB charging cable¬†and no wall-socket adapter.

It works and is about the level of quality I’d expect for it being one of 10 items in a¬†roughly $40 box, but unfortunately, that means it’s not a particularly well-designed speaker. A red light comes on to tell you when it’s being charged, but it never tells you it’s done charging. The speaker was easy enough to pair with a Bluetooth device, but the sound quality isn’t great (as expected for a small, cheap speaker), and a bright blue light flashes annoyingly the entire time it’s in use. I also discovered that the battery drains out really quickly when it’s not in use. (I’d charged it for maybe 8 hours before using it, played some music for a few minutes just to test it out, and turned it off. A couple days later, the battery was completely dead. Not great.)

That being said, it’s a very cute little speaker, reasonably sturdy, and very lightweight. I’ll probably give it to ‘Fiend Jr. to play with when she’s a little older. ūüôā

pusheen170517d

(3) Pusheen Selfie Stick (Pusheen Box Exclusive) Рlightweight and compact with an aluminum telescoping arm, spring-loaded plastic phone mount decorated with a molded soft-plastic Pusheen peeking over the top, and a foam-wrapped grip with a camera button.

pusheen170517i

Very cute. Sadly, it didn’t work at all with my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone (the camera button tried to zoom instead of taking a photo) and worked only inconsistently with my sister’s iPhone 6. I’ve never used a selfie stick before this, so I don’t know if that’s typical of selfie sticks, but I’ll try it again when I upgrade my phone later.

pusheen170517k

(4) Pusheen Party Balloons (Pusheen Box Exclusive) – includes 12 latex balloons in gray, aqua, and pink, all printed with Pusheen’s face in puff paint. I gave these out as party favors at Fiend Jr.’s birthday party.

pusheen170517j

(5) Party Pusheen t-shirt (Pusheen Box Exclusive) – these shirts come in unisex sizes only, so it’s a boxier cut. I typically wear women’s small or medium, and this¬†shirt was sadly too big and wholly unflattering on me. I’ll probably save it for altering into a tank top or wearing as pajamas.

pusheen170517e

(6) Pusheen Bento Lunch Box (Pusheen Box Exclusive) – I’d suggested this very item in one of Pusheen Box’s customer surveys a few months back and was so stoked to receive this! Sadly, mine arrived broken, and when I contacted customer support, they told me they were all out of replacements and could only offer me a $5 refund. Ugh, so much bad luck with this box.

But, I hate seeing things go to waste, so I’m planning to drill a hole in that little nubbin of plastic and replace that flimsy plastic with a better, metal hinge. I’ll fix it somehow. Take that, broken bento box!

Anyway, BPA-free, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe. Purportedly, anyway. ūüôā

pusheen170517f

(7) Pusheen Bottle Opener (Pusheen Box Exclusive) – metal, encased in a soft-plastic Pusheen shell, with a handy magnetic back. Nice touch.

(8) Pusheen Reusable Utensils (Pusheen Box Exclusive) – somewhat smaller than standard utensils, as you can see in comparison to the pen, and only about the same sturdiness as better disposable utensils, so I’d probably want to be careful with these. Wish they came with a case or pouch! Dishwasher safe.

pusheen170517g

(9) Pusheen Photo Booth Props – various cute paper cutouts (macarons, a slice of cake, Bunny Pusheen ears, playing cards, etc.), plus a sheet of adhesive dots and sticks for assembling into photo-booth props. I can see these being great as wall decorations, too!

(10) Pusheen Pennant Banner – a string of six aqua, pink, yellow, and gray cardboard pennants printed with Pusheen’s face, sewn on a white ribbon for hanging.

I would’ve taken better photos of the contents of these two items, but I wanted to keep them protected in their original packaging as possible decorations for ‘Fiend Jr.’s birthday next year. ūüôā

And, that’s it for the Spring 2017 box! The bento box was my favorite this time, and I’m sad it arrived broken, but hopefully I can make it functional again. I’m still enjoying the Pusheen Box, but I’ve received defective items on a several occasions now, so I might not renew after this year. I guess we’ll see how I feel at the end of the year.

Winter 2016 Pusheen Box unboxing!

My Winter 2016 Pusheen Box arrived last week!

pusheen161216a

This box was gift-wrapped Pusheen and Cozy Pusheen-themed. So cute!

pusheen161216

Another nine adorable Pusheen items, with a description card.

pusheen161216b

(1) Pusheen gloves (Pusheen Box Exclusive), the fingerless kind with mitten caps and 100% acrylic, and (2) a fleecy Pusheen-shaped scarf (Pusheen Box Exclusive), 100% polyester, are perfect for cold weather. The gloves are a bit on the small side. I usually wear size M women’s gloves (size 8), and these are pretty tight – as in the area where the thumb connects to the rest of the glove stretches so much that there’s a small visible hole at the junction. If you have larger hands than mine, you might not be comfortable wearing these!

pusheen161216c

(3) The Pusheen String Light Set¬†has eight lights and can be used indoor or outdoor at 120V AC 60Hz and requires 2 AA batteries. I haven’t tried these yet because their reliance on batteries kind of limits their usefulness to me. Might try to alter them later to plug in to power.

pusheen161216d

(4) The Pusheen gift wrap and gift stickers (Pusheen Box Exclusive) with two sheets of wrap and four gift-tag stickers and (5) the metallic light-blue Pusheen Printed Tape have a present and cake theme that can be used for just about any occasion, not just the winter holidays. The print on these is crisp and very cute!

pusheen161216e

(6) The Pusheen Holiday Stamp Set is my favorite item in this box. It includes eight rubber stamps with wood handles and a brown ink pad. Not all of the artwork has the same line thickness, probably because they aren’t of the same scale, and the stamps aren’t all glued very straight on the wood bases, but they’re decent stamps that make clear impressions. The included ink pad works well, too.

pusheen161216f

(7) The Pusheen Tea Infuser (Pusheen Box Exclusive) is made of silicone, including the chain, and is dishwasher and food safe.

pusheen161216h

(8) The Pusheen Stainless Steel Thermos (Pusheen Box Exclusive) is a dainty little thermos Рonly about six inches tall! It holds 280mL (a little less than 9.5 fluid ounces) and promises to keep beverages hot or cold for four hours and fit in standard cup holders. The outside of the body has a grippy rubbery texture Рsilicone? Рand the head feels like normal smooth plastic. Hand wash only.

pusheen161216i

The cap is a slightly different gray from the body, but it doesn’t really bother me. The print is crisp.

pusheen161216g

And, finally, this month’s exclusive vinyl figure, (9) Cozy Pusheen Vinyl Figurine (Pusheen Box Exclusive), with the eponymous chubby kitty dressed in a hat, scarf, and booties. Here, I’ve placed her next to Baker Pusheen¬†from the Spring 2016 Pusheen Box, so you can see them side by side. I think the paint job quality has improved with the last three figures I’ve received, since there’s no more bleeding paint on the newer ones. ūüôā

So cute. ‚̧ #PusheenBox #pusheen #pusheenthecat #cozypusheen

A post shared by Lacquerfiend (@eternaldecember) on

This box wraps up a year’s worth of Pusheen Boxes (four total, one per season), and I haven’t been disappointed! Definitely a fun and useful box for anyone who loves Pusheen, and if anything, the quality of the items has improved.

Speaking of which, I’d mentioned with my Fall 2016 Pusheen Box that I’d contacted customer service about the defective teacup and saucer that came in my box, and they were nice enough to send out a brand new one to me! It took a little while for the replacement to ship out, likely because it’s imported, but the new one is good, so I’m a happy customer. ‚̧ Plus, I now unexpectedly have a matching set, even if one has a smudged saucer.

Not sure if I’ll get another post in before Christmas (my nails are, in fact, naked right now – I’ve hardly even had time to pick up presents for family this year!) and not sure when I’ll get a chance to post next, so just in case, happy winter holidays and New Year!

Fall 2016 Pusheen Box unboxing!

A bit late on this one; I actually received this box well in advance of Halloween, so it was pretty timely, even if this post is not. ūüôā

This quarter’s box was Bat Pusheen-themed!

pusheen161020

More views of the box:

The innards were well packed, too:

pusheen161020b

The description card for this box is a thinner, semi-matte finish instead of the heavy glossy cardstock of past cards, but that’s okay with me. There were nine items total:

pusheen161020c

(1) The Bat Pusheen vinyl figure is a Pusheen Box exclusive and is pretty good quality, like the figures from the two past boxes I received.

pusheen161020j

The print on this one is crisp and better than the print on Baker Pusheen and Mermaid Pusheen. No leaky bits or smudges on this one. I was hoping they used glow-in-the-dark plastic, but no. (Nuts!)

pusheen161020k

The only issue I had with it is that the bottom’s a bit too rounded, so the figure doesn’t stand easily without sometimes significant fiddling. Overall a good quality figure, though, and ‘Fiend Jr., of course, loves her!

(2) The Pusheen The Cat Pumpkin Scented Air Freshener (1 pc) is another Pusheen Box exclusive and looks like a typical die-cut paperboard car air freshener with a hanging loop, featuring Pusheen popping out of a Jack-o’-lantern. It smells like artificial pumpkin pie scent and is pretty heavily scented, so everything in the box smelled like it. As of the time of this writing, it’s still going strong, and it’s been over two weeks since I received the box.

pusheen161020e

(3) & (4) The Pusheen pen and Pusheen holographic notebook (Pusheen Box exclusive) are pretty adorable. The pen is retractable but doesn’t look refillable, sadly. The little rubbery plastic or silicone charm can be removed and used elsewhere, though. The notebook pages are mediocre ruled paper but should do the job if you’re not using an inky pen. No idea if the paper is acid free or anything like that. The print on the cover is a teensy bit blurry, but you’ll only notice if you look at it up close.

(5) The Pusheen Sticky Notes are another Pusheen Box exclusive. It doesn’t say how many sheets you get, but the pad is about 1.5 cm thick.

pusheen161020f

(6) The three Pusheen Silicone Coasters¬†(Pusheen Box exclusive) are a bit smaller than a typical coaster (mostly because of their irregular shapes) and may not be wide enough except for narrower-based cups and glasses, but man, are they cute. They’re embossed at the lines and have a bit of a raised edge for catching condensation. These were ‘Fiend Jr.’s favorite! She likes to play with them at mealtime, and they’re really easy to clean.

pusheen161020g

FYI, the front of the purple coaster had some print transfer from the back one of the other coasters it’d been resting against, but it wasn’t too bad. It does make me a bit concerned about print transfer onto other surfaces, though.

pusheen161020h

(7) The Pusheen Costume Set (Pusheen Box exclusive) is surprisingly decent quality and includes two ear clips (alligator style) and a clip-on striped tail in fuzzy velour. The size seems to work for both children and adults. ūüôā

(8) The Pusheen printed pullover (Pusheen Box exclusive) is a medium-weight 60% cotton and 40% polyester in a heathered gray. The inside surface is looped like terry cloth. It’s probably a unisex cut, so compared to a typical woman’s top in approximately the same size, the shoulders are a bit broad and the sleeves a bit long, and the hip area is proportionately cut slim, which makes the top fit a bit awkwardly on me, but it’d be fine for lazy at-home wear.

pusheen161020i

The print is pretty crisp and the new material feels a bit stiff, probably from the print. Hopefully it holds up and softens well in the wash! I would’ve loved this as a super loose, slouchy top, but I guess that wouldn’t be as wearable for guy subscribers. Might be slouchier for a girl with a straighter figure, too. ūüôā

pusheen161020d

(9) And, finally, my favorite item, the Pusheen Tea Cup & Saucer in an apples and pie theme! SO CUTE. The cup holds 6 oz., and the set is hand wash only and not microwave safe. Sadly, my saucer arrived with a defect, as you can see in the photo (the weird ink smear). I contacted the Pusheen Box customer support, and they said they’d ship me a replacement, which I’m currently waiting on.

All in all, another great box. I loved the Halloween theme!

Summer 2016 Pusheen Box unboxing!

Look what arrived on my doorstep this morning! It’s the Summer 2016 Pusheen Box!

I didn’t see¬†any sneak peeks in my e-mail or on the website this time, so the contents were a complete mystery.¬†The box arrived shrink-wrapped in plastic (which I still think is a nice touch)¬†like the Spring 2016 box¬†and was noticeably larger than the last box but also felt lighter. I was intrigued.

The items were cushioned nicely with wadded tissue paper, and everything arrived in good condition.

Like last time, the box came with a glossy card explaining the eight summer-themed items:

pusheen160723a

(1) The Mermaid Pusheen vinyl figure¬†(Pusheen Box exclusive) is roughly 5″ long and about the same quality as Baker Pusheen from the Spring box. The print on her face, stripes, and scales is crisp and clear, but the rest of the print job is a bit sloppy, with some bleeding and smudges. Mine has a small bald patch on the star headpiece. Overall, though, it’s decent.

pusheen160723c

(2) The Mermaid Pusheen travel cup is a clear plastic, BPA-free, double-walled 16-oz. travel cup for cold liquids. (Hand wash, not microwave safe.) It has a transparent green screw-on plastic lid and transparent pink plastic straw with a stopper to keep it from sliding out completely. The Mermaid Pusheen design is crisply printed on a clear plastic insert sealed inside the airspace between the cup walls.

The insert is just a sheet wrapped around the cup and isn’t seamless like, say, some¬†Tervis travel tumbler¬†designs I’ve seen, but that’s okay by me. Tervis is overall higher quality, though.

pusheen160723d

Again, this cup isn’t the highest quality plastic travel cup I’ve seen, but it’s really not bad¬†and very cute. It’s probably my favorite thing in this box, and I know ‘Fiend Jr. will love it! If I don’t end up taking this to the office as my cold¬†beverage cup, it’ll probably become a travel milk cup for her.

pusheen160723b

(3) The Pusheen the cat ice cube tray¬†(Pusheen Box Exclusive) is a six-well ice cube tray made of what feels like probably silicone (it’s soft and flexible), but¬†the material isn’t¬†specified on the packaging. Each well looks like it holds about an ounce. I’m thinking these would also make great molds for candy, frozen treats, soaps, or crayons!

pusheen160723e

(4) The Pusheen Heat Sealed Embroidery Patch can be heat transferred or sewn on, and it looks to be pretty good quality. Mine has a minor embroidery error¬†about one third up from Pusheen’s feet, but it’s not that noticeable. It’s not as thick as some patches I own, but that could be a good thing. Saving this for ‘Fiend Jr.!

pusheen160723f

(4) These pale lilac¬†Dance Party Pusheen sunglasses are super cute, with their chrome accents and colorful boomboxes, sunglasses-clad Pusheens, cassette tapes, and musical notes. The label says they have CE UV400 (100% UV) protection. Probably my second favorite thing in this box, only losing to the travel cup because I usually wear glasses and can’t¬†rock¬†these except when I use contacts. ūüėõ

(5) I didn’t take a close-up of the Pusheen Compressed Beach Towel (Pusheen Box Exclusive) because it’s still in its little compressed pancake form, which ‘Fiend Jr. has in an iron grip. ūüôā When washed, it should expand into¬†a¬†27.5″ x 55″ purple towel printed with a winking, lounging Pusheen. 100% cotton.

pusheen160723g

(6) The Pusheen weekend bag (Pusheen Box Exclusive) is a 100% polyester simple, lightweight duffle bag, about 18″ long. It’s made of fairly thin material and has no pockets other than the main zippered compartment, but the webbed handle seems reasonably sturdy, and it’s got a fun, 80s-esque Pusheen print. This will be great for transporting ‘Fiend Jr.’s toys to Grandma’s house! (Machine wash cold, gentle cycle, hang to dry, do not iron or bleach.)

(7) The Pusheen beach ball is petite (about 10″ diameter) and has ears and paws that inflate. So cute! ‘Fiend Jr. is scared of it, though.

(8) The Pusheen flip flops are your typical foam-sole flip flops with cute Dance Party Pusheen print. The quality isn’t especially great, though. They have a bit of a chalky feel, the print had already come off part of the left heel, and the straps are a bit loose in proportion to the sole. Usable but cheap.

pusheen160723h

‘Fiend Jr. and I enjoyed¬†this box overall, especially¬†its beachy, 80s theme (mermaids were all over the place after Disney’s The Little Mermaid came out in 1989!). All of the items are cute, though¬†everything is made in China, and¬†the quality of the items is cheap to middling, rather than excellent (like, say, San-X or Sanrio character goods).

I estimated the retail value of the contents at maybe around $74 ($8 for the figurine, $10 for the cup, $8 for the ice cube tray, $10 for the sunglasses, $1 for the patch, $10 for the bag, $2 for the beach ball, $5 for the flip flops, and $10 for the towel, based on prices of similar items), the box is still a reasonable value, if not necessarily up to the $100+ the website says each box is worth.

The Pusheen Box comes out once a season (four boxes a year) and is $43.95 per box (or $39.95 per box if you commit to a full year of four boxes), plus $6 domestic shipping in the US. It promises over $100 of licensed Pusheen goodies, many of them Pusheen Box exclusives, per box. The contents of the boxes are a surprise.

Spring 2016 Pusheen Box unboxing!

My daughter loves Pusheen. I don’t know what it was – maybe it was the pink frosted donut that the plush Pusheen was holding in her paws, or maybe it’s just because Pusheen is so freaking cute – but the first time a four-month-old ‘Fiend Jr. saw that chubby gray cat at the bookstore, she flipped out. In a good way, that is. She couldn’t stop staring, growling, and stretching toward that plush the whole time we were at the store, so I bought it. I swear,¬†Pusheen was one of the first words she learned to recognize. Since four months, anytime I say¬†“Where’s Pusheen?,” she’ll swivel her little head in the direction of that plush.

Sometime¬†later, I’m subscribed to the Pusheen box, and my Spring 2016 Pusheen Box¬†shows up on my doorstep on a rainy Saturday morning. I’m surprised (and delighted) that they’ve thoughtfully shrink-wrapped the cute Pusheen-printed box in plastic to protect it from the dirt and wet, and the unwrapped box¬†is pretty much pristine. Nice touch.

pusheen160507

This box is adorable. It’s even got a tail and paws!

pusheen160507c

My box had a “1” sticker on one side. I don’t know if that means there were variations of this box. Everything inside is made in China, as you’d expect these days, but the quality is actually pretty good in this case.

pusheen160507b

And, here it is, open.

pusheen160507d

There’s a little card describing all the goodies inside: an apron, a set of three socks, a set of three pins, stickers, a portable umbrella, a mini planter, a cookie cutter, and a key cover!

pusheen160507e

I unrolled the Let’s Bake Pusheen apron¬†(Pusheen Box exclusive) first:

pusheen160507f

85% polyester, 15% cotton, and printed with Baker Pusheen. Pretty decent quality, super cute, and works well for a petite woman. I’m not sure how it’d fit¬†on a larger person, but there was definitely room for adjustment to a bigger size. I love the three large pockets in front. (‘Fiend Jr. went nuts for the big Pusheen print.)

pusheen160507g

The Pusheen the cat¬†3 Piece Pin Set looks and feels pretty high quality and are smooth metal with crisp print and color. Pusheen eating has got to be the cutest thing ever. The Pusheen the Cat 3 Pack Socks matches the pins and feature a pair of Pusheen and pizza, a pair of Pusheen and chocolate-chip cookie, and Pusheen and donut. They’re 98% polyester, 2% Spandex.

pusheen160507r

The Pusheen the cat portable umbrella (Pusheen Box exclusive) is a typical compact size and comes with a matching slipcover/pouch.

pusheen160507s

The print quality is good.¬†I haven’t tried the umbrella outside yet, but just from inspecting it, I’d guess that it’s an average-quality umbrella. It opens and closes smoothly enough, but the parts appear to be plastic and lightweight aluminum and probably won’t withstand a stiff¬†wind. (I’ll probably update this post when I get a chance to test it out.)

pusheen160507t

Anyway, it was nice receiving an umbrella on this rainy Saturday morning.

Next up, we have the Baker Pusheen vinyl figure (Pusheen Box exclusive), the advertised exclusive with this box:

pusheen160507h

She’s bigger than I expected, about palm-sized. You can check the pen (which is 5.5 inches long) for reference.

The figure is pretty good, but not great quality. That is, if you collect figures like me, it’s maybe about the same as or a little better in quality than the typical Funko POP! figure (roughly $8 each), but nowhere near as good quality as, say, a Good Smile Nendoroid¬†(in the ballpark of $50 each).

pusheen160507i

The print on Pusheen herself was generally pretty good, but the chef hat white paint kind of pooled at the bottom. The dough and rolling pin both had some brown ink smeared on them. There was also a bit of white grease under the rolling pin that wasn’t a big deal and wiped off easily.

pusheen160507j

Back view shows the messy chef hat paint job.

pusheen160507k

Pusheen is removable from the base, though the rolling pin and dough are not. Pusheen’s underside is a bit rough, but I guess you wouldn’t normally see it, so it’s also not a big deal (though nicer figures have more finished bottoms, even if no one sees them). Still, overall pretty good.

pusheen160507l

Also, I wonder if my figure was a demo or something. The box it arrived in was a bit crunched (as you can see from a couple photos back), and the inside of the box was strangely dirty. Ew.

pusheen160507m

The Pusheen Mini Planter is a small ceramic cup (again, pen for scale) with a drain hole at the bottom. Some suggestions for this cute container are to use it for “a little plant” or “small items on your desk.” I’m thinking I might fill mine with candy.

pusheen160507n

Close-up of the drainage hole at the bottom. There’s also a splotch of darker gray paint. I’m not sure what that’s about, but it doesn’t bother me a whole lot. It’s overall pretty nice – Pusheen’s feet aren’t glazed at the bottom, which is pretty typical for something like this, but the other edges are smoothly glazed, with no rough/jagged edges – though the uneven paint job suggests good, not amazing, quality.

pusheen160507o

The key cover is made of some kind of plastic (doesn’t specify¬†on the packaging), and it may not be an especially secure one, since the chain goes through its own loop at the top of the cover instead of through the hole in the key itself. It also looks like it may only fit relatively standard-sized/-shaped keys, as the cavity¬†is squarish. Print/mold quality is pretty good, though.

pusheen160507p

The Pusheen cookie cutter is¬†some kind of hard plastic and stamps Pusheen’s lovable likeness onto your cookie dough when you press the plunger. Hand wash only, towel dry. The packaging doesn’t specify that it’s food safe, but I’m hoping that’s a given.

Finally, we have the Pusheen the cat Snack Sticker Set, 3 sheets of them! The stickers are generously sized, as you can see with the pen for scale.

The contents of the boxes are a surprise, except for maybe one or two items that they leak to entice potential customers as the season goes on.

I rather enjoyed this box and am looking forward to sharing the contents with ‘Fiend Jr. someday!
