It’s been a long time since I posted here, so I’m going to try to do some catching up today. Here’s Julep Illuminating Leo, a freebie I received for taking three add-ons in my last Julep box.

2 coats #Julep Illuminating Leo, topped with #SallyHansen Miracle Gel top coat, in outdoor natural light. Apparently this color gives me lobster hands, but whatever! Finally have some time to paint nails again after several weeks of cold/flu and stomach flu in the house. 😦 Glad it's pretty much over now, ugh. #nailpolish #nails #swatches #nailpolishaddict #shimmer #notd
Illuminating Leo is described by Julep as a “Zesty Lemon Multidimensional Iridescent—for the bold and confident Leo” and is from their Zodiac Collection. It’s not quite yellow enough to remind me of lemons, but it’s still a beautiful color, similar to some other Julep polishes with that pale champagne-gold pearlescent shimmer base, like Julep Love. Instead of glitter, though, it’s got small gold flakies suspended in there for some extra textural interest. I didn’t notice much iridescence, though.
I’ve no complaints about the formula, which was opaque in two coats, and the polish lasted the typical approximately five days or so on me (with base and top coats) before chipping significantly.
It’s a lovely understated color.
