Wet ‘n’ Wild Caribbean Frost & Live Love Polish Artemis

I’ve painted my nails only once in the last three weeks, but I enjoyed it! This is two coats of Wet ‘n’ Wild Caribbean Frost, topped with one coat of Live Love Polish Artemis from Live Love Polish’s Felis Collection (the profits from which raised $20,000 for a cat cafe fostering at-risk cats in New York <3) on all nails except the ring finger:

Yeah, it’s a bit messy. :\

Caribbean Frost is one of the first drugstore polishes I bought when I first started painting my nails a few years ago, and it’s that kind of teal that I love. I don’t know if it’s still in production, but it’s cheap and good, almost opaque in one coat and easy application. Usually a black creme polish is recommended as a base for magnetic polishes like Artemis, but I wanted to use something greenish because it was around St. Patrick’s Day when I did these nails. I don’t know if teal counts as green to most people, but I went with it.

Artemis is a magnetic polish with a sheer black base and magnetic  shimmer that flashes green to purple. Just one coat is enough for the effect over a base color. 🙂

In person, the overall color of this combination looked teal (like the Caribbean Frost base) from far away, but at the right angles, you could see the band of Artemis’s lovely color shift. The effect is especially beautiful in person and reminds me of photographs of space. I love it!
